The CTCR is bringing its vision to reality through Four Pillars:
Education and Training of Cybersecurity Leaders
Texas and the United States have a critical shortfall of cybersecurity talent. Baylor and MCC have developed partnerships with industry to assess the cybersecurity and resilience of state-of-the-art solutions and look for creative workforce development concepts. We seek to provide a wide assortment of opportunities ranging from those for K-12, community college, undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional development levels to establish Central Texas as a cybersecurity workforce pipeline serving Texas and the United States.
We have established academic partnerships with CompTIA and EC-Council, as well as developed our own custom-tailored training content to meet the growing cybersecurity workforce needs. Baylor has undergraduate and graduate degree programs related to cybersecurity, and MCC has an associate’s degree in cybersecurity. Both schools are NSA-designated Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, and Baylor is a member of the USCYBERCOM Academic Engagement Network. Our cutting-edge technology provides students and professionals with an assortment of realistic scenarios from which they can build and develop their skills for the workplace so that they can effectively prevent, detect, and respond to cyber incidents.
Transformational Applied Research
Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving, increasingly complex, and interconnected discipline. As a private Christian University and a nationally ranked Research 1 institution with more than 20,000 students, Baylor University is well-positioned to pursue interdisciplinary pursuits. We seek to address challenges at the intersection of technical, workforce, and national concerns that can be readily transitioned to practical use.
Trusted Analysis and Consulting
Cybersecurity is built upon trust. To assess whether our approaches, designs, and solutions are properly managing their risks, the community needs a trusted third-party that is serving the interests of the community rather than their own. The CTCR provides trusted analysis and consulting services to its clients. These services could include cyber risk analysis, cyber gap analysis, design analysis, software/system testing, research & developmental guidance, and policy guidance.
Community Engagement
Cybersecurity is not a problem to be addressed merely by the professionals. This is a community problem that needs everyone at the table to help address the challenges we face. We seek to provide opportunities for the community to engage and collaborate to bring diverse voices to the conversation to enable creative, robust solutions to our present and future cybersecurity challenges.
