Cybersecurity is a field facing significant national and statewide talent shortages, but Baylor’s new initiative aims to help just that.

Baylor, through its leadership of the Central Texas Cyber Hub, launched the K-12 Cyber Security Pathways Program, a new initiative to prepare high school students for immediate entry into the cybersecurity workforce or continued education.

Marlin Independent School District officially celebrated the launch of its new K-12 Cyber Security Pathways Program on Thursday, February 5, bringing together district leaders, education partners, and community stakeholders to highlight an innovative initiative designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in cybersecurity.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Students at eight Central Texas school districts will soon have the opportunity to take cybersecurity classes thanks to a new program led by Baylor University in partnership with the Central Texas Cyber Hub.

Baylor University and the collaborative Central Texas Cyber Hub have launched the K-12 Cyber Security Pathways Program to equip high school students with cybersecurity skills for immediate workforce entry or advanced education.

Chilton ISD is proud to announce its selection to the inaugural cohort of the Academy of Cybersecurity, a groundbreaking program created through partnerships with Baylor University, McLennan Community College, Region 12 Education Service Center, and Scinary Cybersecurity.

Data Privacy Week is an annual expanded effort from Data Privacy Day -- taking place from January 27 - 31, 2025. The goal of Data Privacy Week is to spread awareness about online privacy among individuals and organizations. 

For the fourth consecutive year, the Baylor Cybersecurity team advanced to Regionals in the Southwest Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (SWCCDC), placing third in the five-state region.
